SCHOOL SUCKS !

Hey Guys, I just wanted to tell you that I will not post that much in the next few weeks, because of school! School starts on monday again and then there are 7 weeks left of school until christmas vacation! And in those 7 weeks I have to write 8 VERY important exams + there is also a very important project. And this influences my reading and posting stuff. I have not read that much so far in October, I think only 2 books because I had so much stuff to do!
I also wanted to mention that Cassandra Clare is coming to Germany on November 11th!!!!! She will be in Hamburg, and I want to go so BAAAAAAD! Hamburg is not that far away from where I live, so I am really trying to go there, get my books signed and maybe even get a picture with her, BUT the problem is.. SCHOOL. I have school on that day and this event starts at five pm! I have school until 1, and the problem is I need 2 hours with the train. That is actually not the biggest problem, because I could make it, but I have no one to go with! My friends have not read any Cassandra Clare book. But I am trying to convince my friends haha.
that is it for today, sorry guys!

TOP FIVE BOOK TITLES

Hey Guys, I watch booktube. As most of you do, I guess, I mean if  you are interested in books and all that. As some of you may also know there is something called top five wednesday, where basically booktuber post a video every wednesday and show you for example their top five fav book covers. And today I watched some top five book titles videos and thought I would do this aswell. I do not really have an explanation for most of them because idk they made me curious and wonder what the book might be about. So here we go :
1) The Merciless by Danielle Vega
When I heard this title I was VERY curious, because it just sounds so mysterious ? Plus the cover is awesome!
2) We were liars by E. Lockhart
I just LOVE the sound of this title! It just .. idk sounds so cool and again mysterious and I just like that haha.
3) The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
This title..it just idk, I mean if you hear someone saying : That are the hunger games, you are just : omg hunger games? On the one hand it sounds kind of fun because of the ” games ” but than on the other hand it is the “hunger” games and that just aah I do not have a good explanation, sorry haha.
4) A monster calls by Patrick Ness
This again sounds weird and confusing BUT this makes a title very interesting and it made me want to read it and guys, if you have NOT read this book so far you need to! It is so good!
5) City of bones by Cassandra Clare
I think this title just makes you curious and wonder, because well a city of bones? What is that supposed to mean?

Now there are also some titles which I think sound very interesting and I just want to mention them shortly:
The Lying Game by Sara Shepard, Paper Towns by John Green, The retribution of mara dyer, Thirteen reasons why by Jay Asher.
I am sorry that most of the explanations are kind of lame, because I just could not really explain why I like them, I just do. But I hope this post was interesting in any way and I will see you again in a few days.

HSM BOOK TAG!

Today I will do the High School Musical book TAG, because I loooved hsm when I was younger and I still love it ( and know all the lyrics – NO SHAME HERE ). I got the questions from youtube / from the booktuber April Brooks!
1. The Start of Something New – A new favourite genre/author/series
For this one I am choosing horror as genre, because I recently read The Merciless by Danielle Vega and loved it!
2. What I’ve Been Looking For – A book that has everything you’ve ever wanted
The Shatter me Trilogy by Tahereh Mafi ! Those books have action, romance, friendship and they are soo fast paced!
3. Fabulous – A book with the biggest diva
Celeste from the Selection Trilogy by Kiera Cass, god she is the BIGGEST (!) diva.
4. Status Quo – A stereotype defying character
maybe Katniss Everdeen, idrk.
5. Boys Are Back – The best bromance
Will and Jem from The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare! I just love both of them.
6. What Time is it? – Your favourite summer read
We were liars by E. Lockhart or just every John Green book. I do not know why but the books by John Green just remind me of summer, maybe because I have read all of them in summer idk.
7. Everyday – If you had to look at one book cover every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?
The books from the Mara Dyer Trilogy by Michelle Hodkin or the Shatte me Trilogy by Tahereh Mafi!
8. Just Wanna be with you – A book you couldn’t put down
Selection by Kiera Cass and Obsidian by Jennifer l. Armentrout and with that I mean the whole Trilogy/series! They are so addicting!
9. Scream – A character that frustrated you
Clary from The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare. I like Clary but in the first two books .. she was just frustrating at some times.
10. High School Musical – Your favourite fictional school
Everyone would say Hogwarts, but I have not read Harry Potter yet..BUT I watched the movies so still Hogwarts haha. Sorry for cheating but I love the movies sooo..
11. Humuhumunukuapua’a – The most ridiculous book/scene/character you have ever read
Where things come back by John Corey Whaley.. MANY people loooove this book but I just thought it was unnecessary .. I did not like it at ALL!
12. Spring Musical Medley – The happiest ending
Opposition by Jennifer l. Armentout or Split Second by Kasie West or Ignite me by Tahereh Mafi .. all of them had IN MY OPINION awesome endings ! Everything I wished for, but with Opposition – there could have been more deaths haha, just too much of a happy ending, but still very satisfying!

I hope you enjoyed the TAG and I hope you will do it aswell, and if you do tell me ! So I can look at your answers 🙂

THE MERCILESS REVIEW

mercilessToday I am going to review The Merciless by Danielle Vega. First the cover is AMAZING and it kind of looks like a bible! And the back, you unfortunately can not see it, but on the back it says : Forgive us father for we have sinned.” And this sentence describes this book sooo good! The Merciless is basically about an exorcism. Well guess which genre it is, right HORROR. I have never  read a “real” horror book before, well maybe Frankenstein but I do not consider that as horror. In this book our main character Sofia moves into a new town and on her first day of school she meets these typical popular and beautiful girls. Riley, Grace and Alexis are very nice to Sofia on her first day and soon Sofia is a part of their “group”. When Riley tells Sofia that Brooklyn ( a girl from school ) needs help, Sofia did not know that Riley thinks Brooklyn is possessed. Now, Riley and the girls are performing an exorcism on Brooklyn. All Sofia wants is to get out of the house, which Riley prepared for the exorcism. But there is no way out and Sofia can’t go against the other girls, because then maybe she will be next.
I have to say that I really wanted this book as soon as it was out but then when I had it, I was actually kind of scared to start it. But I am so glad I did, this was the perfect read for October. But I still had some problems with the book, which I will talk about now. The first thing that bothered me was that Sofia trusted Riley and her friends from the beginning, she believed them ( well at first ) and everything they said. I mean I would start wondering as soon as they want to baptize me! And another thing that bothered me is that Riley and her friends are VERY religious but then shouldn’t they perform the exorcism at least ” right ” if you can call an exorcism “right” ? They just tortured. Plus I guess the girls are my age like 17 or something like that, girls with 17 have different things to do than wondering if a girl is possessed just because she is kind of a rebell right ? I think that are basically the things that bothered me .. now I will talk about the good stuff!
I loved about this book that is was SO confusing! I wondered the whole book who is the good and who the bad guy! Seriously one moment I thought if someone is possessed than Riley and her friends and the other moment I thought maybe they are right and Brooklyn is possessed! SO GOOD ! Plus I liked that there was no big part with romance, just one tiny part, because this book REALLY is only about these girls and the exorcism. Through the whole book you are wondering ” Can a person be good and evil the same time “, because it was so well done! I have to say this book is really graphic BUT I was not scared, I mean not as much as I thought I would be. It had the perfect amount of scary and gross. And the ending .. OH MY GOD! I really really want a sequel! The ending was just soooo good. And I also liked that we get to know a little bit more about Riley, Grace and Alexis because of their confessions. But there are definitely unanswered questions at the end and I want to know the answers.
So If you want to try a horror story and you are not scared easily, definitely give this one a try! I mean I get scared so easily when things are very realistic but when I watch SAW or sth. like that I really do not care. Still you should give this book a try, I LOVED IT. I gave this book four out of five stars! I hope you enjoyed this Review 🙂

TVD – TAG

Hey Guys,
Today I will do sth different. I really wanted to tell you about some of my fav Tv-series, because I have so many. But one of my fav one is The Vampire Diaries. So this is the Vampire Diaries Tag. I hope you enjoy! Oh I also want to mention that there are six Seasons and the sixth one is currently on tv. ( I did not really like Season five, because it felt like the producer just needed another story and bla but yeah I have hope for Season six. And if you watch the Show aswell, I tag you to do this tag ) I will only mention people from the first or second season, because I do not want to spoil anything important. I found the questions on youtube / the video from Joey Graceffa and Ingrid.
1. How did u discover the show?
I first saw it on tv but did not really enjoyed it. But one or two years later I was bored and wanted to start a new tv series and I kind of was in the mood for a vampire show so I googled and tvd came.
2. Who’s your favorite character!
My fav character is Caroline and Katherine.
3. If you were vampire would u live of human or animal blood?
Definitely human blood, this may seem weird but I think I could not resist. I mean when I have chocolate and a salad at home, what would you eat?
4. Team Stefan or Damon!
That is so difficult, honestly! When I started this series I was Team Stefan all the way but idk. When it is about who should be with Elena.. I think I would say Damon because Stefan is too good for her.
5. What’s ur favorite supernatural power?
I would love to manipulate people. Not in a creepy way.. but you all have to admit that would be pretty awesome!
6. If u were to be a character who would u be?
I think I would be Elena, which sucks because Elena is really depressing and I just do not really like her, BUT I think I would not be as cool or sassy as idk maybe Caroline. But if I could decide who to be I think I would love to be Caroline or Katherine.
7. Have u read the book series?
No I have not. But one of my friends has and she says that the books are really different and apparently the books are about how Elena fell in love with Stefan and the tv series about how she fell in love with Damon, but idk if that is really true.
8. Who’s ur crush on the show?
Definitely Klaus and Stefan and well Damon looks also nice..very nice!
9. What was ur first initial thought of the show and did it change after u saw it!
Well as I said in the first answer, when I watched it on tv I did not like it and look where I am now, I am waiting every week for the new episode and I have the necklace from Elena.( which she got from Stefan and I wear it everyday )
10. Who was ur favorite villain?
I think Klaus and Katherine, if you can consider them as villains.

I hope you liked this little change and enjoyed the TAG and maybe want to start watching the series now, if you have not aleady.

THE MAZE RUNNER REVIEW

MAZE RUNNER

I recently finished the Maze Runner and want to talk about it, but as always without spoilers. I guess most of you already know what this book is about, because of the movie or trailer but I will tell you what it is about nonetheless. So this book is the first one in a Trilogy by James Dashner and the movie is already out ( but I have not watched it yet, so shush ). In this book a group of teenage boys are trapped in this area and they are surrounded by a maze. There are the so called ” Runners ” and they try to find a way out of the maze everyday. The main character is a boy, who is around sixteen/seventeen, but we do not really know because he has no memory of his life before he got to the maze. That happens to everyone who enters the maze, they can not remember anything about their lifes before the maze. And that is actually what the book is about so now I will talk about stuff I like and do not like about this book.
I liked the whole concept and story, it was very interesting and unique. For example just how they all live in this area with these huuuuge walls surrounding them. They kind of just built their own lifes there, everyone has his own work to do and that is kind of cool I think. I also really liked some of the characters like Minho or Newt, buut there are also some I did not like that much, like our main character Thomas. I mean Thomas is kind of cool and smart and all of that but he was also annoying at some points and just repeadet himself SO OFTEN!
The start of this book is also kind of slow and confusing, honestly I did not really like the book at the beginning. This language they use in this area..so weird. And after finishing this book I still had so many questions and yes I know there are two other books and I will probably read them but still. Plus all the boys are in this area for a kind of long time and I think it is so weird that they have not figured out ONE thing but yeah I do not want to spoil anything so I will keep it at that. But I think my main problem with the book was that well we saw everything from Thomas POV and when he trusted some people we were supposed to do the same but I did not even trust Thomas that much, because he is just kind of weird, the stuff he know and just idk.
After reading this Review you all probably think that I did not like this book because well there are kind of more negative things than positive but I still gave this book four out of five stars ( maybe more like 3,5 ). And the reason for that is just that it was enertaining nonetheless. After I got into this book is was really cool and just fun. Plus Dylan is Thomas in the movie, so I pictured Thomas as Dylan all the time and I LOVE Dylan O’brien haha. I will watch the movie very soon and am actually quite excited to watch it. I will also continue with the series so yeah just try the book if you want to. I guess that is it, I hope you all have great day, byeeee.

FRIDAY READS!

Helloooo Guys!
Today is a great day because now is VACATION TIME and that means READING. So I thought I will do a friday reads for today. I finished Ignite me by Tahereh Mafi a few hours ago and oh my god.. I have no words. I am so happy about the ending, it could not have been better really! But I think I will not do a Trilogy Review, because you should just read it without a Review, because it is perfect. And as I think back it is crazy how my judgement changed, the characters change and show different faces and some characters grow so much. You probably heard that everyone loves Warner and if you read the first book and think : How can someone love warner! ” Well then you have to read the second and third book, because I myself do not like Warner in Shatter me but in Unravel me and Ignite me .. he makes me crazy haha.
Until now I have not started another book but my next read wil be The Merciless by Danielle Vega. I think it is a perfect book for October and Halloween time, but I have to admit I am kind of scared to start it.. I mean the topic really interests me but also terrifies me haha. As you might know this book is about Exorcism and that is really the only thing I know about the book but it sounds so good, you have to read the synopsis!
So I guess I will be reading The Merciless for the next few days and then .. well lets just say I will order some stuff from amazon haha.
I hope you all have a great weekend or like me vacation.

THE ICE CREAM BOOK TAG

Hello Guys!
I am really in the mood to do a tag, and I love Ice Cream, so this tag is perfect for me!
1. Peanut Butter: a very long book series that you really want to read, but probably won’t.
It is a shame but .. Harry Potter. I looove the movies but I never read this series when I was younger and idk. Every time I watch the movies I really want to read the books, but I just think that I never will.

2. Chocolate: a book you would read over and over and over and over again.
The Hunger Games Trilogy, every John Green book or the Shatter me Trilogy.

3. Pistachio: a book with a green cover.
Since you’ve been gone by Morgan Matson, btw it is a really good book if you have not read it yet, do it!

4. Strawberry: a book with the cutest romance.
For this one I am choosing tfios, the lux series ooor to all the boys I’ve loved before. I just can not decide.

5. Lemon: a book with a sour ending.
Eleanor and park by Rainbow Rowell. This might be a surprise for some of you, but I didn’t really enjoy the ending.

6. Mint: a children’s book that you like.
I haven’t read any children book so far.

7. Vanilla: your favorite classic.
Classic’s are not my fav books, well I startet Sense and Sensibility nearly 2 months ago and it just lays here on my table haha. So I do not really have any classics I really really like, just some, which are okay.

8. Whipped Cream: a very long book that you read really really fast.
Selection by Kiera Cass, well MY edition is very long, because I have a different from the normal one, so yeah haha.

THE HUNGER GAMES TRILOGY REVIEW

hunger_games_trilogy So, here is the Trilogy Review, as promised. I think all of you know what the Hunger Games Trilogy is about, but if not I will just tell you now. The first book The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins is about a girl called Katniss, who lives in a society where people live in so called Districts and all of the current 12 existent Districts are ruled by The Capitol. Katniss lives with her sister Prim and mother in District 12. Every year there is a reaping in every District, 2 children ( a boy and a girl ) from every District are chosen to fight in an arena and only one child can come out of this alive, so they basically have to kill everyone else to win. While they are fighting for their lives, the people who live in the Capitol watch them on TV, so it is basically like a tv-series, but everything is real and those “games” are called The Hunger Games. I think that is the main things you should know going into this.
Now I will talk a little bit about book 1 and 2 and after that mainly about the last book. But do not worry I will not spoil anything.I think I also have to say that I watched the movies of the first and second book before I read the book so yeah. I gave the first book five out of five stars, because I think it was a great first book for a trilogy. I loved Katniss as the protagonist and really liked the whole plot and world building. I have no idea how Suzanne Collins came up with this plot, world and just the whole idea, but it is sooo good ! I loved the characters and just everything. I read the book one year ago so I can not tell you anything more than that I loved it haha. The second book Catching Fire, which I also gave five out of five stars, was just as good as The Hunger Games if not better. There was just soo much going on and if I had not watched the movie before, I would have never guessed that this would happen. In this book we are introduced to a lot more characters, which are just awesome! Like Finnick, god I love Finnick and he also kind of looks really good haha. Then there is also for example Johanna, Mags, Beetee, Plutarch and a lot more. This was basically an AWESOME sequel, which you do not get often!
Now to the third book..what an ending for this trilogy. I gave this book only four out of five stars, because there were definitely some parts that I did not like. First I did not like the deaths at all! I think everything could have been done without the 2 most important deaths from this book. I am quite sad and upset about those. Then the ending, I felt like it was just so rushed, like BOOM the ending. And I did not like Katniss after one of the deaths ( obviously I can not tell you who dies, because this would be a spoiler, so it kind of sounds weird – ” after one of the deaths ” but yeah, you have to deal with it haha ), because she was so idk, she just gave up on life and was all ” I want to kill myself bla bla bla “. I mean I understand it really, but it was just so not Katniss like. But I have to say I really liked the start and middle part of the book, as well as the epilogue. I think I can not say more without spoiling so I guess this will be it for the Review. If you have not picked this trilogy up yet, DO IT! You will not regret it, it is awesome, as well as the movies. I am soooo excited for the Mockingjay movie now, because there are definitely some parts, which I really want to see on the screen.
May the odds be ever in your favor.
-Laura

FRIDAY NIGHT READS

Hello Guys,
First I want to apologize for not posting that much lately, but school is just crazy like always!
Today I will tell you what book I just finished, planing to finish and am currently reading.

I just finished Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins today and I gave it 4 out of 5 stars. I wanted to read this book before I watch the movie, so it was obviously not a reread. I will not say more about it because a Trilogy Review will come online in the next few days, I promise! 🙂
After I finished that I picked up The Maze Runner by James Dashner, because of again I want to finish this before I watch the movie, which is already out, but I will watch it in idk 1 or 2 weeks haha. I am now 67 pages in, I have to say that I had some trouble getting into it because idk I guess I was still in the world of Katniss and Peeta or because of the language, this language still confuses me.
But I am hoping to finish this book soon so I can finally start Ignite me by Tahereh Mafi, which I am DYING to read!
I am sorry this was a very short blogpost, but like I mentioned school is crazy right now.
See you all soon
